Join The Ark Project

Joining the Ark Project gives you a chance to be a Conservation Ambassador and help create an outstanding guest experience for visitors to the Edmonton Valley Zoo! Connect with guests from around the world and help us turn them into wildlife allies by introducing them to our animal friends and educating them about the conservation work we do at the Edmonton Valley Zoo.

Members of the Ark Project Board are passionate about our mission and are committed to our values of respect, care, creativity, and collaboration.

We are seeking individuals aspiring to succeed in one of the Officer positions of our Board of Directors, including the position of Board Chair. As an Officer of the Board, you will partner with the Executive Directors and the Board to achieve our mission and provide leadership to the Board of Directors, who set policies and to whom the Executive Directors report. Other accountabilities include chairing meetings of the Board after developing the agenda with the Executive Directors, playing a pivotal role in strategic planning, helping to guide and mediate Board actions concerning organizational priorities and governance concerns, and monitoring financial planning and financial reports.

Join our fun environment and help us save the animals and the planet.

“As an Ark Project Volunteer, I’m thrilled to help people understand the role the EVZ plays in conservation and preventing species extinction. I meet a lot of great people, and love educating them on simple things they can do at home to help.”
